does not show the density or
specific gravity
of these materials. I'm simply comparing their weight to maple,
with maple given a value of 1. For example: a Hydex 202 ferrule
would be 63% heavier than the maple you remove to install the ferrule.
In general, it's safe to assume that the closer a material's weight is
to maple, the less it will adversely effect cueball deflection.
In light of the miniscule effect on the shaft's actual end mass, you
have to wonder "Are these slight differences really enough to make a
difference?" I'll leave that for you to decide based on the
material you choose, your ferrule size & design, the shaft diameter,
shaft taper and any shaft lightening tricks you employ.
